Sometimes, the nerve inside your tooth can become infected or swollen, and cause pain. A root canal may help you keep your tooth.
2 OR MORE APPOINTMENTS
Most patients can have a root canal done in two complete visits. We make sure we anesthetize the tooth and affected area. We may recommend a crown afterwards to prevent anything from breaking. Root canals can sometimes be finished in one visit, but you should be prepared to spend 2 or more visits with us to make sure you’re symptom-free before we finish the root canal.
DURING YOUR ROOT CANAL
Depending on the health of the nerve tissue, this procedure can take two or three appointments to get the job done. If there is a serious infection, we may first apply medication for a few weeks to clear the contamination. A temporary filling is used to protect the area.
AFTER YOUR ROOT CANAL
We never want anyone to have to experience pain, but after a procedure like this one, you may feel a bit sore. Avoid chewing on that side and Dr. Albert Lui, Dr. Jazmin Lui, or Dr. Andres Guzman will prescribe a restoration for the tooth to prevent future fractures.
