During your first visit for a dental bridge, your supporting teeth are prepared. This is done by reshaping/removing some enamel in these teeth to make room for a dental crown to be placed. Impressions will be sent off for our preferred dental lab team to make your permanent bridge and you’ll get a temporary one to protect your exposed gums and teeth.
The second appointment will consist of your temporary dental bridge being removed and the new metal or porcelain bridge being fitted like a new suit. Your Dr. Lui & Associates’ doctor may need you to come for multiple visits to check your bridge’s fit and bite. After a few weeks and assessments, your new dental bridge is cemented.
Bridges can typically last between five and fifteen years.
